Apprenticeship as a Cutting Machine Operator (m/f/d)

Cutting Machine Operator (m/f/d) is a recognized apprenticeship occupation under the Vocational Training Act (BBiG). It is assigned to the occupational field of metal technology, with a focus on manufacturing and machining technology.

Duration of training: 3.5 years

Training content – basic vocational training

  • Structure and organization of the training company
  • Labor and collective bargaining law, occupational safety
  • Work safety, environmental protection, and efficient use of energy
  • Reading, applying, and creating technical documentation
  • Identifying, assigning, and handling materials and auxiliary materials
  • Planning and controlling work and movement processes, monitoring and evaluating results

Advanced vocational training

Tasks and activities

In the specializations of turning or milling machine systems, cutting machine operators (m/f/d) manufacture workpieces for machines, devices, and systems using turning and milling operations on conventional or computer-controlled machine tools and machine them further. They plan the respective manufacturing processes, select the required tools, and create programs for computer-controlled machines. They set up turning, milling, and grinding machines including tools and fixtures, monitor the production process, and inspect and ensure the quality of the workpieces. In addition, they maintain and service the machines they operate.

What you should bring with you

  • A good school-leaving qualification (lower secondary school certificate, intermediate secondary school certificate, or Abitur)

Customer Project Manager – Sales (m/f/d)

Your responsibilities:

  • You are an important part of the sales team and work closely with your contacts at the customer, your colleagues, and the management of Fischer CNC-Technik.
  • You maintain business relationships with existing customers, work on expanding cooperation, and establish new potential business contacts.
  • As a customer project manager, you are responsible for the entire project development process—from the customer inquiry through technical feasibility analysis, costing and quotation preparation, to order acceptance.
  • You also act as the primary contact for your customers during the manufacturing process, for example regarding scheduling issues or post-calculations.
  • You monitor and manage the projects of an assigned customer portfolio.
     

Your profile:

  • You are a master craftsman, technician, or engineer in the field of metalworking, mechanical engineering, or have a comparable qualification.
  • You have a strong understanding of commercial, technical, and production-logistics interrelationships.
  • You demonstrate a customer-oriented approach with very good communication skills and professional demeanor.
  • Knowledge of quotation preparation and price negotiations is desirable.
  • Strong assertiveness and persuasive skills are an advantage.
  • You are characterized by strong team orientation combined with high social competence.
  • You have good written and spoken English skills.
  • You enjoy developing not “off-the-shelf” parts, but high-performance components for demanding customers, for example in motorsports.

Lathe operator / milling cutter as CNC specialist (m/f/d)

We are looking for employees (m/f/d) for shift operation who can set up and operate Hermle 5-axis machining centres and DMG lathes with Heidenhain controls in compliance with the highest quality requirements - programming knowledge is an advantage.

Your tasks:

  • CNC machining of machine parts according to drawings and templates
  • Preparing, setting up, equipping and operating 3- and 5-axis CNC machines
  • Setting of tools
  • Independent execution and monitoring of the entire machining process
  • Checking and documenting the machining results using drawings and measurement sheets

Your profile:

  • Successfully completed industrial-technical training (e.g. industrial mechanic, precision mechanic or cutting machine operator (m/f/d))
  • Experience in CNC machining
  • Experience in aluminium and steel processing desirable

3D Metrology Technician – Coordinate Measuring Room (m/f/d) – for shift work

If you have professional experience in quality management, have successfully completed technical training as a cutting machine operator, metrology technician, quality inspector, or a comparable qualification, value a modern company with a secure workplace and pleasant working conditions, and are accustomed to working independently with a goal-oriented approach, we can offer you a position with the earliest possible start date.

Your responsibilities:

  • Programming (Calypso), setup, and operation of ZEISS coordinate measuring machines.
  • Interpretation of measurement results.
  • Continuous development and optimization of measurement programs and processes on the measuring machines.
  • When required and in cases of substitution, you will also contribute to ensuring the quality of our production throughout the entire value chain, from incoming goods inspection and manufacturing to final product inspection.

Knowledge and skills:

  • Good knowledge of 3D metrology.
  • Programming, setup, and operation of ZEISS coordinate measuring machines (ZEISS Calypso is an advantage).
  • Confident handling of conventional testing and measuring equipment, as well as the ability to read technical drawings.
  • Experience in machining (turning and milling) is an advantage.
  • Strong quality awareness combined with organizational skills.

Work Preparation Specialist (m/f/d)

We are looking for employees to provide technical customer support and to monitor ongoing production processes with regard to adherence to deadlines and quality standards. In addition to optimizing machining processes, defining these processes is your main area of responsibility. In this context, you define the sequence of operations and develop the work plans.

Your profile:

  • Completed technical training or further qualification as a technician or master craftsman in the field of mechanical engineering
  • Professional experience in work preparation, manufacturing (turning, milling, EDM, grinding, etc.), heat treatment, surface treatment, and quality assurance processes
  • Experience in CNC turning and CNC milling technology
  • Ideally, relevant REFA training
  • Strong communication skills and assertiveness
  • English language skills
